ASHLY NEUMANN - APPRENTICE ARTIST

OPERA SARATOGA DEBUT SEASON: Clorinda in La Cenerentola; Ensemble and First Witch Cover in Dido and Aeneas.

Soprano Ashly Neumann recently sang Frasquita (Carmen) with Opera Grand Rapids and was the soloist in Twisted, a ground-breaking collaboration between Opera Columbus, Ballet Met and the Columbus Symphony Orchestra. In summer 2014, she was an Apprentice Artist at Des Moines Metro Opera, covering Comtesse Adèle (Le Comte Ory). Ms. Neumann has performed in nationally prestigious programs, including The Song Continues 2014, a Marilyn Horne event, where she sang on the Weill stage of Carnegie Hall, and as a 2013 Voice Fellow at Music Academy of the West, covering Königin der Nacht (Die Zauberflöte). She was Gold Medal and Audience Choice winner of the Young Texas Artists Competition, and winner of the Mid-Texas Symphony Competition, with whom she has sung twice as featured soloist. Ms. Neumann has performed leading roles with Opera in the Ozarks 2012. Ms. Neumann holds a Master of Music from the University of Houston, where she performed roles including Gilda (Rigoletto) and Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier).
