OPERA SARATOGA DEBUT SEASON: Aeneas in Dido and Aeneas; Ensemble in La Cenerentola

Baritone Brian Mextorf was most recently seen in performances of Bill Bobstay and Captain Corcoran (H.M.S. Pinafore) with Virginia Opera. As a Gerdine Young Artist with Opera Theatre of St. Louis in 2012, Brian “excelled” (Opera News) in three roles in Unsuk Chin’s Alice in Wonderland. Brian also recently sang the role of Lesbo in Handel’s Agrippina and roles in the first performances of two new operas with Manhattan based Operamission. Other recent roles include Judas (Mattäuspassion with The Philadelphia Orchestra), Anthony cover (Sweeney Todd with Virginia Opera), Demetrius (A Midsummer Night’s Dream), Four Villains (Les contes d’Hoffmann), Guglielmo (Così fan tutte) and Gianni Schicchi (Gianni Schicchi). Brian is from Williamsport, Pennsylvania, and is an alumnus of Oberlin Conservatory of Music (B.M.) and Westminster Choir College (M.M.).
