OPERA SARATOGA DEBUT SEASON: Ensemble in Dido and Aeneas and Tisbe cover in La Cenerentola

In spring 2015 mezzo soprano Courtney Elvira performs as Ernesto in Carnegie Mellon University’s production of Il mondo della luna for her final semester in graduate school. Her previous Carnegie Mellon engagements include Mrs. Peachum in The Beggar’s Opera, Lazuli in L’étoile, and Mrs. Herring in Albert Herring. In the summer of 2014 she traveled to Eureka Springs, Arkansas to sing Dorabella in Così fan tutte for Opera in the Ozarks. Other highlights include Anne from The Mother of Us All and The Mother from Amahl and the Night Visitors, both for the University of South Florida. She has also performed in choruses for St. Petersburg Opera and solo performances with Opera Tampa. Ms. Elvira was a runner-up in the Jeannie and Stephen Foster Competition and received an Honorable mention in the Florida Suncoast Opera Guild Competition.
