Pasta & Puccini - April 26th, 2015

Presented by The Friends of Opera Saratoga and Opera Saratoga

This year’s Pasta & Puccini will wrap you in the sensory delights of Italy.  The evening begins with handmade hors d’oeuvres during the cocktail hour in Saratoga National Golf Club’s gracious foyer.  Then, join us in the Ballroom for a three-course dinner. Our culinary tour of Italy begins with a butternut squash ravioli in a light sage crème sauce.  Next, enjoy your choice of Veal Parmigiana, Tenderloin Medallions Pizziola, or Herb Baked Haddock.  While you dine, sip fine Italian wines hand picked by Prime’s experienced sommeliers.  Finish your feast with a Lemon Berry Tiramisu made of soft ladyfingers layered with a lemon mascarpone mousse, raspberry compote and fresh berries.

The evening’s entertainment will feature music by Italy’s most beloved composers, from the bel canto roulades of Rossini, Bellini and Donizetti, through Verdi’s magnificent dramatic works, to the passionate verismo melodies of Leoncavallo, Mascagni, and of course, Puccini! Four of the country’s most exciting singers, all members of the 2015 Young Artist Program at Opera Saratoga, will perform throughout the evening under the musical direction of Laurie Rogers: soprano Christine Suits, mezzo soprano Courtney Elvira, tenor Dominick Corbacio, and bass baritone Jesús Murillo. Artistic and General Director Lawrence Edelson will host the program, which will include a few musical surprises you won’t want to miss!
