This year’s Pasta & Puccini will offer you the atmosphere of an historic property, Wolfert’s Roost, a name given to the former estate of the late Governor of New York David B. Hill in 1892. Although newly renovated, imagine the original Wolfert’s Roost in 1915 when it was first designated as one of the finest country clubs in northern New York. You will begin the evening with a spread of imported cheeses and passed hors d’oeuvres before entering the ballroom with its scenic vista. Enjoy the ambiance along with your choice of entree-Pan Seared Atlantic Salmon with a shallot-dill butter sauce or Roast Prime Rib of Beef au jus or Baked Chicken Breast stuffed with Vermont brie and topped with Sherry wine Veloute sauce and finish with a delectable Tiramisu and coffee before the entertainment begins.
The evening’s entertainment will feature arias and scenes from your favorite Italian operas, as well as a preview of music from Opera Saratoga’s upcoming Summer Festival. Three of the country’s most exciting singers, all members of the 2018 Young Artist Program at Opera Saratoga, will perform throughout the evening under the musical direction of Sara Chiesa, a distinguished alum of the program: soprano Asleif Willmer, mezzo soprano Paulina Villarreal and baritone John Tibbetts. Artistic and General Director Lawrence Edelson will host the program which will include a few musical surprises you will not want to miss!
