Pasta & Puccini
This year’s Pasta & Puccini will feature Italy’s most decadent tastes, sights, sounds, and you won’t want to miss it! The evening begins with a cocktail hour featuring a selection of handmade hors d’oeuvres. Then, head to the ballroom for a three-course dinner beginning with portobello mushroom ravioli with a light truffle cream sauce. Next, an enticing duet entrée of red wine braised short ribs and pan-seared scallops, accented with celeriac potato puree and honey-roasted carrots. While you dine, sip fine Italian wines hand-picked by Prime’s experienced sommeliers. Finish with an indulgent Opera Cake, a sponge cake soaked in a coffee simple syrup layered with ganache and coffee butter cream and covered in chocolate glaze.
The evening’s entertainment will feature principal guest artists from Opera Saratoga’s production of The Elixir of Love under the musical direction of pianist Keith Chambers. Company favorite tenor Brian Downen is joined by newcomers soprano Maureen Francis and baritone Gregory Gerbrandt in a program of Italian opera favorites. General Director Curtis Tucker will host the program and lead the crowd in Neapolitan sing-a-longs. A fitting and rousing kick-off to Opera Saratoga’s month-long celebration of opera!
