JESSE LEONG - STUDIO ARTIST

OPERA SARATOGA DEBUT SEASON: Studio Artist Pianist and Coach/Conducting Fellow

With repertoire ranging from Rossini and Wagner to Rodgers & Hammerstein and Sondheim, pianist and conductor Jesse Leong is a musician of uncommon breadth and versatility. He is the Assistant Conductor of Queen City Chamber Opera, Studio Pianist of the Wagner Society of Cincinnati, Principal Keyboardist of the CCM Orchestras, and a fourth-year Piano Performance major at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Principal teachers have been Mark Gibson, Elisabeth Pridonoff, and Donna Loewy. Other studies with John O’Conor, John Steele Ritter, Ken Lam, Isaac Selya, Sonia Vlahcevic, and Donna Lee. In December 2013, Mr. Leong made his professional conducting debut with “Marco Panuccio presents O Holy Night - An Evening of Holiday Song,” and reprised the performance in the winter of 2014. He was a Resident Artist Pianist at the Opera Theater of Pittsburgh in the summer of 2014, and joins Opera Saratoga as a Studio Artist for the 2015 Season.
